BIST 100 Started Thursday With An Increase
BIST 100 started Thursday with an increase. The BIST 100 index gained 0.55 percent in Borsa Istanbul and started the day with 1,399.34 points.
At the beginning of the day, the
BIST 100 index, which gained 7.61 points and 0.55 percent compared to its previous closing, reached 1.399.34 points.
At the opening, the banking index gained 0.48 percent, while the holding index gained 0.54 percent. Among the sector indices, financial leasing and factoring gained the most with 4.5 percent, while the ones that declined were communication and insurance with 0.22 percent.
As a result of the ongoing negative divergence in banking stocks on Wednesday, the
BIST 100 index lost 0.29 percent and closed the day with 1,391.73 points.
Analysts stated that the increasing number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases and tightened measures, as well as the volatility in exchange rate and bond interest rates negatively affected the stock markets, and stated that the infrastructure package of approximately 2 trillion dollars announced by US President Joe Biden yesterday evening increased the risk appetite on a global scale.
It was also stated that the manufacturing industry Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data, which will be announced domestically and worldwide, will be closely monitored today.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the range of 1.420 and 1.450 is in the resistance position and the level of 1.340 is in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
