BIST 100 Started Tuesday With An Increase

BIST 100 index started Tuesday with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 1,913.31 points with an increase of 0.85 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 16.18 points and 0.85 percent compared to the previous close, rose to 1,913.31 points. While the banking index depreciated by 0.34 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.83 percent. Among the sector indices, chemistry, petroleum and plastics were the highest earners with 1.68%, while the most decline was recorded on sports with 0.91 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.31% and closed the day at 1,897.13 points. In the meantime, the upward step rule in short selling transactions applied since December 20 in the stocks in the BIST 50 index will continue today. Analysts stated that despite the concerns that the increased restrictions due to the Omicron variant in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic may adversely affect the economic recovery, a positive trend was observed in the stock markets in the week when the busy holiday calendar came to the fore. It was stated that today, international reserves and foreign exchange liquidity in the country, housing price index in the USA, consumer confidence index and Richmond Fed industrial index data will be monitored closely. In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.940 is in a position of resistance and the level of 1.840 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
