Bitcoin Broke A New Record! Bitcoin broke a new record. Bitcoin, which was on the rise shortly before the new year, recorded a premium of over 240 percent compared to the beginning of 2020. The rally in Bitcoin continued unabated on the trading day, when a significant part of the global markets was closed. According to the data set prepared by Bloomberg, the level of $ 24,600 was exceeded in Bitcoin and a new record was set. The daily premium in Bitcoin, which started Friday at $ 23,400, exceeded $ 1,000. Thus, more than 240 percent gain has been achieved in Bitcoin. Litecoin, the other cryptocurrency with the highest trading volume, is traded at $ 122. The ongoing rally in digital assets was causing differences in opinion due to Bitcoin's history full of sharp ups and downs. While the proponents of Bitcoin stated that cryptocurrency performs a portfolio-diversifying function, such as gold, due to the depreciation of the dollar exchange rate and the possibility of inflationary pressure, the counter-camp stated that they saw a speculative rise that would inevitably collapse, similar to what happened three years ago. While the rally continued in Bitcoin, days before 2021, it was seen in their analysis that foreign institutions also viewed from a more positive perspective. Goldman Sachs stated that even though Bitcoin stole some of the demand for gold, known as the oldest safe-haven, the precious metal could maintain its position. Making a statement, Goldman Sachs said, “The poor performance of gold against real interest rates and the dollar has worried some investors that Bitcoin is replacing gold against inflation." Ended the explanation with the following statements. "While there are some alternatives, we do not think that the growing popularity of Bitcoin poses a threat to the existence of gold.”
