According to the filing, the ETF will track the NYSE FactSet Global Blockchain Technologies Index. BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager with $10 trillion in assets under its management, has applied for an ETF to track the performance of an index that tracks companies working in the blockchain and technology space. The ETF will track the NYSE FactSet Global Blockchain Technologies Index. In other words, the scope of this index will include cryptocurrency mining, cryptocurrency trading companies and exchanges or crypto mining systems companies. The following statements were included in the ETF application: “The index on which the ETF is based consists of Blockchain technology companies and cryptocurrency trading and exchanges.” In 2021, BlackRock invested $400 million in Bitcoin mining companies Marathon Digital Holdings and Riot Blockchain.
