BMW-Powered AirCar Made Its First Flight!
BMW-powered AirCar made its first flight. AirCar made its first intercity flight.
The flying car, which has been a dream for many years, is now one step closer to reality. We saw one of the flying cars, which we saw many prototypes of over the years, for the first time in a test flight.
Klein Vision has conducted the first flight test of the AirCar, which has been in development for a long time. Thus, the model made another move towards approaching the production version. The test, carried out by the developer Stefan Klein and one of the company's owners Anton Zajac, took AirCar on a journey between cities for the first time. In the test carried out on June 28, the model took off from the Nitra runway and landed at Bratislava Airport, 35 minutes away.
Basically, the AirCar isn't much like the flying cars we've seen so far. Eliminating the drone concept, AirCar has foldable wings and flaps. The "sports car", which opens its wings and rear tail in under three minutes, can turn into an airplane in an instant. But this "cool" design has its downside, because AirCar is not a "VTOL", it still needs a runway.

Currently, there are two different prototypes of AirCar. The first of these is Prototype 1, which uses a standard gasoline
BMW engine. This engine, which operates the giant rear propeller you see in the video, has already made 40 hours of flight experience. The model, which has been approved by the Civil Aviation Administration, can reach an altitude of 2,500 meters and a maximum speed of 190 km/h.
Prototype 2 has a much more powerful jet engine. This engine, which can produce 300 hp, can reach a maximum speed of 300 km/h in total and offers a fairly long range of 1,000 kilometers.
