Bosch Could Remedy the Chip Crisis
Bosch could remedy the chip crisis. Bosch starts production at its new chip factory.
With the
chip factory that it opened last month, Bosch will start production in Europe, which has been hit by the global chip crisis.
It was stated that the semiconductor factory opened by Bosch with an investment of 1 billion euros could be a solution to the supply problems and the problems arising from Europe's dependence on Asia or the USA.
The first chip produced in the factory, which was established in a region close to the city of Dresden, Germany, will be used in the production of electronic devices next month. Bosch Board Member Harald Kroeger said:
"There won't be a quick recovery because production takes time, but the new factory will definitely increase capacity. Every chip is a good chip."
The chip supply crisis hit multiple industries, with a factory burning in Japan and the closure of the factory damaged by the storm in Texas. The European Union (EU), which is sensitive to the problems experienced in the chip crisis, also aimed to produce chips at least 20 percent of the global production within ten years.
Angela Merkel, who attended the opening of the factory on a videocall last month, said, "If it can't produce a block microchip like the EU, I wouldn't feel comfortable about it. If you're a car country, it's not good if you can't produce one of the main parts."
