Brazilian markets are down at the close

Brazilian stock markets fell after the close on Monday, with shares in the Utilities, Electricity and Financials sectors falling.

The Bovespa lost 0.35% by the close of the São Paulo stock exchange. Trading below the Bovespa, Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3), the best performer of the session, is up 7.47% or 0.42 points at 6.04. Meanwhile, Locaweb Servicos De Internet SA (BVMF:LWSA3) is trading up 4.20% or 0.24 points at 5.95 while BRF-Brasil Foods SA (BVMF:BRFS3) is trading up 3.15% or 0.45 points at 14.73. IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3), the worst performer of the session, fell 4.63% or 0.10 points to close at 2.06. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) is trading at 12.42, down 4.31% or 0.56 points, while MAGAZ LUIZA ON NM (BVMF:MGLU3) is trading at 2.13, down 3.18% or 0.07 points. The number of losing stocks on the São Paulo Stock Exchange was 493, while the number of gaining stocks was 300. In addition, 60 stocks remained stable. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) shares fell 4.31% or 0.56 to its lowest at 12.42. MAGAZ LUIZA ON NM (BVMF:MGLU3) shares fell 3.18% or 0.07 to a 3-year low of 2.13. CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, an implied volatility measure for the Bovespa, fell 1.27% to 38.77 points. Gold Futures for August delivery gained 0.38% or 6.80 to trade at $1.00 an ounce. Elsewhere in commodities, August Crude Oil WTI Futures are trading at $110.60 a barrel, up 2.00% or 2.17%. Meanwhile, American Coffee C Futures for September delivery are trading down 2.67% or 6.15% at $223.95. USD/BRL is trading flat by 0.06% at 5.33 while EUR/BRL is trading down 0.15% at 5.55.
