British Prime Minister Johnson Held in Hospital for Coronavirus Test
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was taken to the hospital when his test for COVID-19 came back positive. He underwent tests at the hospital on Monday because he was still suffering coronavirus symptoms 10 days later, but the government insisted he stay in office.
Johnson, who was in isolation in Downing Street after testing positive for the virus last month, was hospitalized on Sunday night as he still had a high temperature and his doctors thought he needed additional tests.
His office and ministers said Johnson, 55, continued to lead the government, the prime minister was in good shape and would undergo "routine tests" as a precaution, while Downing Street refused to rule out which tests he would carry out.
Robert Jenrick, the housing secretary, said: "he will remain in the hospital for as long as he is required to do so, but I have heard he is fine and I look forward to getting back to Number 10 as soon as possible." said.
” This is not an emergency entry and so I certainly expect him to be well and be back soon, " he said, but he never made a clear speech.
