Broadcasting Crisis in Football Resolved
Broadcasting crisis in football has been resolved. TFF announced that the agreed first installment amount for the 2020-2021 season was paid to the federation by the broadcaster.
In the statement made by the
Turkish Football Federation (TFF), broadcasters expressed their ongoing payment for the first installment of the 2020-2021 season.
In the statement following expressions were used, “As a result of the negotiations made after the memorandum of understanding on November 17, the first installment amount agreed for the ongoing 2020-2021 season has been paid to our Federation today and the progress payments of our clubs will be deposited into their accounts as of tomorrow.”
A contract for the 2020-2021 season was signed between TFF and Digiturk beIN Media, which holds the broadcasting rights of the Super League and TFF 1st League.
Clubs were Protesting the Broadcasting Organization
In a previous statement made by the Clubs Association, it was emphasized that there were problems in the payments that the organization had to make, and protested the broadcaster's failure to fulfill its obligations, by stopping the matches for 1 minute in the first minutes of the matches played in the 13th week of the league.
Over the protests, the broadcaster argued that they made all the payments, but TFF announced that the payments were not made.
