Bug in Coinbase Caused a $20 Token To Reach $1.1 Trillion

A student in the US state of Georgia was shocked to see that the token he bought for $20 reached 1.1 trillion in a week.

The bug at Coinbase caused a $20 token to reach $1.1 trillion. A student named Chris Williamson, who lives in the US state of Georgia, purchased $20 worth of Rocket Bunny (BUNNY) tokens last week. The student, who kept his investment in Coinbase Wallet, also followed the price changes from the application. When he got up on Tuesday morning, the student, who examined the prices again, experienced the shock of his life and saw that the value of his wallet had increased to 1.1 trillion dollars. The wallet was worth $1,189,313,417,915 to be exact.

Transaction Failed

On the other hand, when Williamson wanted to transfer his balance to another wallet immediately, the transaction could not be made and the wallet suddenly decreased to a much less value. Explaining the situation to a friend, Williamson contacted the stock market after his friend said that there was a mistake. Later, making a statement on the subject, Coinbase stated that this was a situation that occurred as a result of a bug and that it would be fixed as soon as possible. Although Williamson said that his account was frozen, the Coinbase official noted that there was no such situation and the user could easily access his account.

“My account is like Elon Musk’s account”

Chris Williamson wanted to have fun when it became clear that there was an error with his balance. The student, who started tweeting to both BUNNY token and Coinbase accounts, did not neglect the famous billionaire Elon Musk, and finally asked Coinbase to invite him to the New Year's party: “I'll piss you off if you don't invite me to the New Year's party. I think I treated you well in this regard, after all, my account is no different from Elon Musk at the moment” Making statements to the Daily Mail, Williamson jokingly told Coinbase that he could settle for much less money and said, "When you look at the real situation, you already understand that you will not be able to get this money in any way.
