CBRT Chairman Murat Uysal Dismissed
CBRT Chairman Murat Uysal was dismissed. He was succeeded by the former minister of finance, Naci Ağbal.
Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Chairman Murat Uysal removed from his post by presidential decree published in the Official Gazette. Former finance minister Naci Ağbal was appointed president of the CBRT.
Thus, the President of the CBRT was changed twice in 16 months.
President of the
CBRT, Murat Çetinkaya, was dismissed about 10 months before the end of his term in the office, and then Vice President Murat Uysal was replaced. President Erdogan, on the other hand, said about the former Central Bank Chairman Murat Cetinkaya, "We dismissed the former Central Bank Chairman because he was not listening to us."
Who is Naci Ağbal?
Naci Ağbal was born in 1968 in Bayburt. Ağbal graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Public Administration, and completed his master's degree in the UK Exeter University Business Administration General Business Management (MBA) Program.
Ağbal, who worked as an inspector in the Ministry of Finance, deputy head of the inspection board, head of department and minister consultant in the General Directorate of Revenues, was the General Directorate of Budget and Financial Control between 2006-2009, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance between 2009-2015.
