CEO of Binance US Brian Brooks Has Resigned

CEO of Binance US Brian Brooks has resigned. Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao also confirmed the resignation.

Brian Brooks, CEO of Binance US, the US leg of Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, announced that he is resigning from his post. Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao also confirmed the resignation. After announcing his resignation on his Twitter account, Brooks said, "Despite the differences in strategic direction, I wish my former colleagues the best of luck. Exciting new things are coming!" Zhao said, “Binance US is poised to continue to grow and strengthen the future of finance as one of the largest exchanges in the US. This process will not affect Binance US customers in any way, and the company will continue to offer best-in-class products and services.” Brooks had only taken office in late April. The resignation of Brooks, who previously headed the Office of the US Currency Controller (OCC), an important government agency, was met with surprise in the markets. Prior to OCC, Brooks served as Coinbase's general counsel.
