Speaking about bilateral relations in the new period, Wang said, “We always believe that China and the US should strengthen mutual communication and dialogue, manage differences on the basis of mutual respect, expand cooperation on the basis of mutual interests, and promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations.” China-US relations have been very tense in recent years due to Taiwan, the South China Sea, Hong Kong, the coronavirus epidemic, and the customs tariff wars.
