China Called on US to Strengthen Communications
China called on US to strengthen communications. After Joe Biden was elected president of the United States, China called on the US to strengthen the dialogue between them.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the two countries should strengthen communication and dialogue for the election of Democrat Joe Biden as the new president of the United States.
Speaking at the regular press conference held in Beijing, the capital of China, Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin stated that they will follow international behaviors regarding the election of
Biden as president.
“We have followed the process of decleration of Biden’s win of the election. We understand that the election results will be determined by the USA's own law and order.” Speaking as, Spokesperson Wang did not share any congratulations on
Biden's victory.
Speaking about bilateral relations in the new period, Wang said, “We always believe that China and the US should strengthen mutual communication and dialogue, manage differences on the basis of mutual respect, expand cooperation on the basis of mutual interests, and promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations.”
China-US relations have been very tense in recent years due to Taiwan, the South China Sea, Hong Kong, the coronavirus epidemic, and the customs tariff wars. So much so that the two countries even imposed sanctions on each other.
