China's imports from Russia increased by about 57 percent in April compared to the same period in 2021. Imports from other regions remained unchanged. This increase in imports once again revealed the close relations between the two countries.
While the G7 and European countries banned energy imports from Russia due to the Ukraine war, China did not take any sanctions against the country in parallel with the messages of support.
According to official data, Chinese companies' exports to Russia decreased by 7.7 percent in April compared to the same period of 2021, amounting to 3.8 billion dollars. This was the lowest level since March 2020, when the pandemic began.
