Chip Bill Decision by the US Senate
The US Senate has approved the bill prepared to break the dependence on China, the chip manufacturing giant. The bill, which was prepared to increase chip production in the country and to better compete with China in this regard and envisages 280 billion dollars of aid to the chip manufacturing sector, passed the Senate.
It was noted that the bill, which was accepted with the "yes" vote of 64 senators against the "no" vote of 33 senators, is expected to be voted in the General Assembly of the House of Representatives for it to become law, and then to receive the signature of the President of the United States
Joe Biden.
The chip bill aims to eliminate possible disruptions in the production of many industries from automobiles to electronics. This bill includes approximately $ 52 billion in support for semiconductor production, as well as a 25 percent tax cut for four years to encourage the installation of semiconductor factories, for a total of $ 280 billion in support.
US President Joe Biden said in a written statement after the bill was approved, "As Americans fear the state of the economy and the cost of living, the CHIPS bill has only one answer: It will increase the production of semiconductors in America and lower the price of everything from cars to dishwashers."
