CHP Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu; “We Brought Tons of Sugar, Who Won?”
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, leader of the Republican People's Party, said, "We closed the factories, we opened our hands, we brought tons of sugar. Who won? They privatized 10 factories of Turkish Sugar for 680 million dollars, 11 billion liras in today's currency. Only one month's interest paid in April is 19 billion liras. Is this how you govern a state, is this morality? Is this virtue?"
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made statements about the agenda of his party at the GNAT Group Meeting. The CHP leader noted that no member of his party, starting with himself, has not and will not kneel before any power and injustice.
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, drawing attention to the conscience of those who voted for the AK Party, said, "Which factory did the AK Party governments build? What did they do other than selling?” After directing his questions, he gave the following statements:
"We say 'every factory is a fortress, honor, sweat, production, employment, contribution to Turkey's reputation'. They sold their sugar factories, 24 years later the Republic of Turkey had to import sugar from abroad. Straw, meat, lentils, wheat we were importing everything, now we have to import sugar. I want to ask every citizen to put their hands on their hearts and ask their conscience; What happened to the Giant Turkey that we had to import sugar? Can you call this a healthy administration of our country? Can you say that “we are in good hands”? We closed the factories, we opened our hands, we brought tons of sugar. Who won? They privatized 10 factories of Turkish Sugar for 680 million dollars, 11 billion liras in today's currency. One month's interest paid only in April is 19 billion liras. Is this how you govern a state, is this morality? is this virtue?"
