Ciner Group, has ordered 4 ultramax type dry cargo ships. The freight, which reached record levels in global shipping, supported the investment environment in shipping.
Ciner Denizcilik, one of the largest shipping companies in Turkey, has ordered four 63,000 DWT ultramax dry cargo ships from China's New Dayang Shipyard.
The total size of the investment was over $100 million.
Ciner Shipping, which is among the largest shipping companies in Turkey in terms of gross and net tonnage carrying capacity, operates a fleet of 24 ships with a carrying capacity of 2 million DWT.
Baltic Dry Cargo Index Rises
The uptrend continues in the Baltic dry cargo
index, which follows the freights of dry cargo ships.
The index exceeded 4,200 points on Wednesday, recording its highest level in 11 years. The increase in the index in the last year reached 227 percent.
