Citigroup Earnings Report, Q3 Total Revenue Exceeds Expectations
Citigroup said in its third-quarter earnings report on Friday that its revenue beat analyst estimates.
The company reported total revenue of $18.50 billion on earnings of $1.63 per share, while analysts surveyed by Investing.com expected the company to post earnings of $1.49 per
share and total revenue of $18.38 billion.
In pre-open markets, Citigroup shares were trading up 1.51% at $43.60 after the earnings report.
For the year, Citigroup shares are down 28%. The S&P Global 100 index, where the stock is traded, is down 21%.
Citigroup follows other notable earnings reports in the Financial sector
On Friday,
JPMorgan reported total revenue of $32.7 billion and earnings of $3.12 per share for the third quarter. Expectations were for total revenue of $32.11 billion and earnings of $2.92 per share.
On Friday, Wells Fargo & Co's revenues topped analyst estimates, totaling $19.51 billion in the third quarter and earnings of $1.3 per share. Investing.com analysts had expected total revenue of $18.75 billion, with earnings of $1.1 per share.
