The European Union (EU) Commission has announced that it will provide conditional financial support for the development of vaccines against Covid-19. The EU Commission announced that they are creating a strategy for the vaccine, which is expected to be developed against the virus. Stating that the most effective and permanent solution to the virus is vaccination, the commission stated that EU countries will act jointly in developing vaccines. In the statement, it was stated that in addition to causing deaths, Covid-19 caused many countries to have an economic crisis. It was also stated that in order for the vaccine, which is expected to be developed against Covid-19, to be successful, serious investments should be made in clinical research, production capacity and distribution. The EU Commission said it will support companies for the vaccine development process over the next 18 months and make agreements on behalf of the member states. The EU also underlined that if a reliable vaccine is found, it will make a preliminary agreement that includes the requirement to receive a vaccine at the time and dose it has determined. After this agreement, it was stated that the financial aid to these companies will be used from the 2.7 billion euro emergency fund.
