Construction Will Soon Begin on the Nakhchivan-Turkey Pipeline

Construction will soon begin on the Nakhchivan-Turkey pipeline. Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez announced the details. Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, and Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Youth and Sports, went to Iğdır after the 106th anniversary commemoration of the Sarıkamış Operation. Dönmez and Kasapoğlu, who visited the Governorship and the municipality, met with the Governor and Deputy Mayor Hüseyin Engin Sarıibrahim. Speaking with members of the press during his visit to the municipality, Minister Dönmez said that they had the opportunity to evaluate the activities in the field of energy and natural resources in the city, requests from relevant units, projects and investments. Stating that the city has been using natural gas for about 3 years, Minister Dönmez said, “I hope we will do our best to bring natural gas to our towns and municipalities in the new period.”   Auction Will Be Completed In A Few Months Addressing the natural gas agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan, Minister Dönmez used the following statements: “As of the end of last year between as Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey, we had made an agreement on the construction of Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline. We were able to project site assessment on this occasion. Hopefully we will complete the contract in the next few months and will begin promptly the construction of the manufacturing of the pipeline. Building work time is planned as 12 months. This is one of the important projects that will increase the strategic importance of the city of Iğdır.” Pointing out that there has been a trade between Turkey and Nakhchivan for a long time, Minister Dönmez said that energy will be included in the trade. Minister Dönmez said that the municipalities and settlements located on the natural gas pipeline route to Nakhchivan will also have exit points to use natural gas in the future. “Azerbaijan's liberation of Karabakh from the invasion of Armenia brought an indescribable joy to the Turkish nation. There was a rhetoric of" two states, one nation", we have demonstrated this in every field. We have confirmed this in these recent developments. Important opportunities will come for the development of trade. The corridor from Nakhichevan to Azerbaijan is one of them. There is no concrete development yet. There are also some transportation lines used in the past. These will come to the agenda. In all respects, this victory was in favor of both countries.”
