Consumer confidence index hits historic low

The seasonally adjusted Consumer Confidence Index, calculated from the results of the consumer tendency survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUİK) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, decreased by 3.1 percent in December compared to the previous month. The confidence index, which was 71.1 in November, became 68.9 in December.

The financial situation of the household index decreased

Compared to the previous 12-month period, the financial situation index of the household in the current period, which was 56.1 in November, decreased by 3.6 percent in December to 54.1.

The financial situation expectation index of the household decreased

The financial situation expectation index of the household for the next 12 months period, which was 68.9 in November, decreased by 5.3 percent in December to 65.2.

The general economic situation expectation index decreased

While the general economic situation expectation index was 68.2 in November, it decreased by 2.2 percent in December to 66.7. Compared to the previous 12-month period, the index of thoughts on spending on durable goods in the next 12-month period, which was 91.4 in November, decreased by 1.9 percent in December to 89.6.
