Covid-19 Balance Sheet Gets Heavy in North Korea
The number of cases in North Korea, which has denied the existence of the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic, has approached 2 million.
Covid-19 Balance Sheet Gets Heavy in North Korea. While the coronavirus, which first appeared in December 2019 and spread all over the world in a short time, has almost lost its effect, North Korea officially announced its first Covid-19 case in the past weeks.
According to the news of the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the number of cases detected in the last 24 hours was 262 thousand 270, thus the number of cases in the country increased to 1.98 million. The total loss of life was recorded as 63.
It was discovered that approximately 1.2 million people with high fever symptoms recovered, while 740 thousand 160 people were isolated.
North Koreans Are Not Vaccinated
Although the number of cases decreased and the quarantine decisions came to an end after the vaccine mobilization was announced in many countries, the people were not vaccinated in North Korea, which has an underdeveloped health system.
North Korea had rejected the offer of millions of doses of vaccine made by the World Health Organization's Global Access Program for Covid-19 Vaccines (COVAX), which aims to ensure equal access to vaccines for low- and middle-income countries.
