Crypto Warning from Nobel Laureate Economist!
Crypto warning from Nobel laureate economist. Robert Shiller warned about housing, stock markets, and cryptocurrencies.
Stating that he is worried despite the record rises in cryptocurrencies and stock markets in the last few weeks,
Shiller expressed that he suspects that there is a bubble in the housing sector.
"Housing prices have never risen this much in real terms, we have data going back 100 years ago. This increase is significant. Something is happening in the sociology of the markets."
Shiller noted that there is a lot of acceleration in prices right now, and that they do not expect much decrease in prices a year later.
Emphasizing that herd psychology played an important role in the recent rise in the stock exchanges, Shiller reminded that the S&P 500 and Dow Jones indices, which saw the bottom levels in March 2020, have risen approximately 90 percent since then, and the Nasdaq Composite Index has risen above 100 percent.
Referring to the rise in
cryptocurrencies, Schiller said, "I thought about buying it to experience its effect, but I never bought Bitcoin, maybe I should be active in this market."
Bitcoin (BTC), the leading cryptocurrency, which has experienced a sharp volatility recently, has dropped more than 30 percent in the last two weeks until Friday's close.
