Cryptocurrency confession from famous economist. Modamed El-Erian, Allianz's chief economic adviser, made candid statements regarding the cryptocurrency trading. Making a statement in an online panel organized by the Financial Innovation Research Center, El-Erian always stated that cryptocurrencies are included in a payment ecosystem and that they will not be a global currency. Participating in a television program, El-Erian said that when Bitcoin prices rise to the level of $ 19,000, he answered the question of whether he will invest or not, stating that the price will not take unless he sees below $ 5,000. The world-renowned economist pointed out that he made an investment when the BTC price was pulled to the level of $ 5,000 and continued as follows: “I bought it for $ 5,000 and then sold it for $ 19,000, thinking I was the smartest person around.” Stating that he did not consider a few important details, El-Erian said: “I just looked at the techniques. I didn't know that in the next four weeks the price would double to $ 38K and make me look like a complete idiot!”
