Cryptocurrency Leader Bitcoin Stalled for 85 Minutes!
A block on the Bitcoin (BTC) Blockchain network was unable to produce for 85 minutes. The situation attracted attention from the community.
Since its inception, the Bitcoin
Blockchain network has been actively adjusting the difficulty to fix block intervals to 10 minutes. However, this difficulty level can fluctuate due to miners whose operations become unstable due to external factors. Naturally, this situation affects miners again. The latest situation attracted a lot of attention. The Bitcoin network could not produce blocks for 85 minutes.
The blocks in the Bitcoin network are divided into 10-minute periods to maintain the stability of the network. For this, the method of increasing hash difficulty is used. However, sometimes long block times can occur in the system even if this difficulty does not increase excessively. A similar situation occurred today and block production stopped for 85 minutes.
According to Mempool data, more than 13,000 transactions were put on hold without block extraction.
