Raymond Thomas Dalio is an American billionaire investor and hedge fund manager who has served as co-chief investment officer of the world's largest hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates, since 1985. He founded Bridgewater in 1975 in New York. Within ten years, it was infused with a $5 million investment from the World Bank's retirement fund. Dalio was a guest on Bloomberg's television program, warned about the US elections, and expressed his views on the Fed. He argued that there is a possibility that no party will accept the results of the elections to be held in the USA in 2024. Dalio said the US is "relatively down" while China is on the rise. Dalio also mentioned that "small amounts" of cryptocurrencies are in his portfolio and that there is too much interest in this issue. About the Fed, Dalio said, "They performed below average in monetary policy. The increase in interest rates means that there will be adjustments in all other assets." However, the Fed's actions are likely to weigh on the more speculative sectors of the stock market." He said investors may want to consider buying inflation-indexed bonds or gold to try to gain some protection against strong price rises. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, 72-year-old Dalio has a combined net worth of $15.7 billion.
