“We have to distinguish between digital money and cryptocurrency. We cannot evaluate a money with an unknown value in the same basket.”
Continuing to talk about cryptocurrencies at the summit, Gul added:
"The issue of digital financial activities in the financial sector is important. There is a digital electronic money law preparation prepared by our Central Bank. Our economy will gain more serious depth. We will make arrangements to minimize the destruction of cryptocurrencies."
Gul further emphasized that the distinction between digital money and cryptocurrencies should be clearly observed and continued as follows:
"We have to somehow observe the distinction between digital money and cryptocurrencies. We cannot equate money with a clear authority with money, whose value is unknown and whose backing it is unknown."
