Developing country currencies reached a record level. The
MSCI Developing Country Currencies Index reached its peak due to the decline in the US dollar.
The MSCI Developing Country Currencies Index broke a record. The weakening of the
US dollar for 3 consecutive quarters supported the appreciation of the currencies.
The index gained 0.7% at 2:30 am London time and rose to 1,731.57. Thus, it equaled the record recorded in March 2018.
The Russian ruble, Chilean peso, and Indonesian rupee are the currencies gaining the most value today.
The good mood in the perception of developing country markets also supported today's earnings. Rabobank Strategist Piotr Matys made statements on the subject. Matys stated that with the effect of supportive monetary policies and incentive packages, the flow of money to emerging markets will continue this year.
