Yesterday (August 23, 2021), the Chinese local news outlet China Securities Journal reported that Dalian Commodity Exchange made the payment to
Dalian Liangyun Group Storage and Transportation Co. Ltd. in
Digital Yuan.
Local branches of the Bank of Communication and the Dalian branch of the People's Bank of China assisted in the transaction. According to the news, interbank payment using e-CNY provided a cost-free, efficient and convenient payment option in real time.
By the start of 2021, the e-CNY pilot had been tested in several key cities in the country, including China's Xiong'an region and the city of Shenzhen.
However, China is confusing everyone with its drastic measures against cryptocurrency mining, as well as attracting attention with the development of its digital currency, the Digital Yuan.
