According to the news from the BBC, Warner Bros., Disney, and Sony production companies, which decided to impose sanctions on Russia, canceled the releases of films such as The Batman, Turning Red, and Morbius in Russia. A Warner Bros. official said, "Due to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, WarnerMedia is pausing the screening of its feature film The Batman in Russia." Disney stated, "Given the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the tragic humanitarian crisis, we are suspending the release of films in theaters in Russia." The production company of the Pixar animated movie Turning Red, which has postponed its release date in Russia, said it will work with non-governmental organizations to provide "immediate aid and other humanitarian aid to refugees." Sony has also stopped showing the Marvel adaptation of Morbius in Russia. A company spokesperson on the subject stated that they will stop their planned screenings in Russia, considering the ongoing war in Ukraine and the uncertainty and humanitarian crisis in the region.

Access limitation from Netflix, Twitter and Facebook

On the other hand, online broadcasting platform Netflix announced that they will not accept the rule of adding state-supported channels to the broadcast list brought by Russia. A Netflix official said, "Given the current situation, we have no plans to add these channels to our service.” Twitter and Facebook also took action to "limit the presence of Kremlin-backed news outlets accused of spreading false information" about the Russian attack on Ukraine. While Facebook's owner, Meta, announced that it will restrict access to media outlets RT and Sputnik in the European Union, Twitter also announced that it will add a warning to messages that share media links with the Russian state.
