Dollar / TL Gains Strength Again
The Dollar / TL, which started the week with a serious decrease after the intense news flow at the weekend, gains strength again.
USD / TL rate started the week with a sharp decline with the introduction of the new President fort he Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Naci Ağbal, Biden’s victory in the presidential elections in the United States and resignation of the Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak.
The exchange rate, which closed the last week at the level of 8.51, dropped to the level of 8.0029 yesterday with these developments. The Turkish lira made the strongest jump in the last 2 years against the dollar.
The USD / TL rate rose rapidly in the morning hours today, rose to around 8.38. Was traded at around 8.3730 with a 3.7 percent gain at 9:30 am.
Albayrak's resignation, the meeting of the new CBRT President Naci Ağbal with bankers and his first statement, which was perceived positively in the market, were the most important factors determining the pricing on the first trading day of the new week.
According to the news flow that came at night, Lütfi Elvan was replaced by the Presidential Decree instead of
Berat Albayrak, who resigned from his duty in the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

Borsa Istanbul closed the first day of the new week at 1,231.54 points, gaining 3.32 percent, the highest close of the last 9 months. Transaction volume reached 34 billion TL. The indicator index started Tuesday with a 0.7 percent decline.
