Economic Confidence Index Data Announced
Economic confidence index data was announced. The data in question pointed to a decline in December.
Economic confidence index for December has been announced by Turkey Statistical Institute (
TURKSTAT).
The economic confidence index, which was 89.5 in November, decreased by 3.5 percent in December and declined to 86.4. This decline in the economic confidence index was due to the decreases in the service, retail trade and construction sector confidence indices.

The service sector confidence index decreased by 9.2 percent in December compared to the previous month and reached the value of 70.4. Retail trade confidence index decreased by 7.8 percent to 87.6, while construction sector confidence index decreased 7.2 percent to 73.3.
The
Consumer Confidence Index remained steady at the level of 80.1. The real sector confidence index, on the other hand, increased by 2.8 percent and became 110.4.
An index of economic confidence greater than 100 indicates optimism towards the general economic situation, and a lower than 100 indicates pessimism towards the general economic situation.
