Economic confidence Index in Europe was positive. The European Economic Confidence Index hit the highest level of the last three and a half years in May.
While the European
Economic Confidence Index reached the peak of the last three and a half years with 114.5 in May, the European Producer Confidence Index reached the peak of 3 years with 8.8 in May with the opening of restaurants, hotels and shops. While the industry confidence index came in at 11.5, Consumer Confidence was at the highest level of two and a half years with -5.1.
Vaccination Gained Speed in the European Union
In the
European Union (EU), which started to apply the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine at the beginning of this year, at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine has been given to 46 percent of the adult population to date.
In the first 3 months since the beginning of the year the vaccinations started, the EU administration, which has been criticized by some member states for its slow rate of vaccination, has so far signed contracts for 2,4 billion doses of vaccine with BioNTech-Pfizer, 400 million with AstraZeneca, 300 million with Sanofi-GSK, 400 million doses with Johnson&Johnson, 405 million doses with CureVac, and 460 million doses with Moderna.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has so far approved vaccines produced by BioNTech-Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson&Johnson companies.
In the EU, where vaccinations start to accelerate in the spring months, it is planned that 70 percent of the adult population will have received at least one dose of vaccine by July.
