Elvan: There is Benefit in CBRT's Disclosure of Data
About the loss of 128 billion dollars in reserves, Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan said, "There is a benefit in CBRT's disclosure of data."
Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan was also involved in the
Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's (CBRT) Governor's debate on the loss of reserves of 128 billion dollars. Minister Elvan pointed to the debate on $ 128 billion in foreign exchange reserves. Said, "You can discuss this method, but you cannot accuse anyone of corruption. It is out of the question for anyone to commit corruption here." Minister Elvan said it would be beneficial for the CBRT to announce the data on foreign exchange sales.
Sharing his evaluations on the agenda on a private television channel, Minister Elvan said:
“You have the opportunity to see how much foreign currency has been sold and purchased, completely open and transparent There are market maker foreign and domestic banks on electronic trading platforms. There is absolutely no illegal situation here, there is absolutely no corruption. I did not make a statement, thinking that making a statement without a technical explanation might cast a shadow on the independence of the CBRT. I also made a statement because a technical explanation was received from the
CBRT.”
