Employee Dismissal Ban Has Been Extended
The ban on employee dismissal has been extended. According to the decision, the employers will not be able to lay off for another 2 months.
In accordance with the Presidential Decree, the Labor Law will be extended for 2 more months as of March 17.
With the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the periods specified in the first and second paragraphs of the provisional article 10 of the Labor Law numbered 4857, which contain the regulation to prevent the termination of the work contracts of workers, will be extended for 2 more months as of March 17, 2021. With the provisional article added to the Labor Law on April 16, 2020, it was prohibited to terminate the business or service contracts, the termination of the business or service contracts, the termination of the workplace, the termination by the employer for 3 months.
In addition, the provisional article included the regulation on the employers to allocate their employees on unpaid leave for 3 months.

Twitter. Minister Selcuk said, "We continue our measures to protect employment during the normalization process. We are extending the Cash Wage Support and Termination Restriction for 2 months with the decision of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan."
