BIST 100 index closed the day with an increase on October 18. BIST 100 index gained 0.58 percent in Borsa Istanbul and closed the day at 1,417.70 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 8.13 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 16.2 billion TL.

At the close, the banking index lost 0.92 percent value, while the holding index gained 0.46 percent. Among the sector indices, electricity was the highest earner with 2.20 percent, while the most decline was recorded on insurance with 1.18 percent.

Stating that the company’s financial results, which continue to be announced on a global basis, may trigger share and sector divergences, analysts said that the statements from the world’s leading central bank officials will be monitored tomorrow, the data agenda will be calm in the country, and construction permits and housing starts in the USA will be followed.

In addition, it was stated that global stock markets started the new week negatively, as the third quarter growth data announced in China remained below expectations, commodity prices that continue to rise and inflationary concerns became the focus of the agenda again.

In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.396 stands out as the support and the level of 1.420 is in a position of resistance for the BIST 100 index.
