BIST 100 Index Closed Tuesday with a Fall
BIST 100 index closed Tuesday with a fall. BIST 100 index depreciated by 0.21 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day at 1,533.05 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which decreased by 3.28 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 20.9 billion.
At the closing, the banking index gained 0.96 percent, while the holding index lost 0.07 percent. Among the sector indices, transportation was the highest earner with 1.07%, while the most decline was recorded on mining with 3.07%.
Analysts said that investors acted cautiously before the US Federal Reserve (FED) interest rate decision to be announced tomorrow. Stating that the
FED is expected to decrease in asset purchases and that FED Chairman Jerome Powell's statements can give clues for the future of the Bank's monetary policy, analysts said that Powell's statements will be at the focal point of the markets.
It was stated that inflation in the country, ADP private sector employment in the USA, factory orders and the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) to be announced worldwide will come to the fore tomorrow.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.550 is in a position of resistance and the level of 1.490 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
