BIST 100 Index Ends The Week With A Record

BIST 100 index ends the week with a record. In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index completed the day with a 0.77 percent increase in value, bringing both the daily and weekly closing records to 2,494.37 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 18.96 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 33.1 billion TL. At the closing, the banking index gained 1.30 percent, while the holding index gained 0.44 percent. Among the sector indices, the highest earner was textile leather with 3.33 percent, and the only one decline was recorded on chemistry, petroleum and plastics with 0.13 percent. Continuing its upward trend for 7 consecutive weeks, the BIST 100 index, led by banking stocks, completed the day with a value gain of 0.77 percent, bringing both the daily and weekly closing records to 2,494.37 points. Analysts stated that the US and European stock markets were closed due to the public holiday and stated that the developments regarding the Russia-Ukraine war remained at the center of the agenda. Analysts said that the statements of the US Central Bank (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell and the European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde, the Beige Book Report to be published by the Fed, the summary of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee meeting will be monitored closely. Next week, consumer confidence index, housing price index on the domestic data agenda, manufacturing industry and service sector Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) to be announced in Europe and the USA, growth in China, housing starts and construction permits in the USA, Inflation in the Eurozone and industrial production in Japan will be monitored closely. It was stated that the level of 2,500 is in a position of resistance, while the levels of 2.410 and 2.390 are in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
