Cryptocurrency Miners Are Leaving Kazakhstan
Cryptocurrency miners are leaving Kazakhstan. It was stated that one third of the miners left the country.
Kazakhstan, which is one of the 3 countries that benefited the most after China's total ban on cryptocurrency
miners in May last year, may miss a historical opportunity. The Kazakhstan National Blockchain and Data Center Industry Association has announced that about a third of legitimate mining companies and mining farms have left the country.
In a statement on the subject, the chairman of the association, Alan Dorzhiev, said that the biggest reasons for the escape of miners out of the country are the recently increased tax rates and electricity charges. Dorzhiev stated that the miners are responsible for the power cuts in the country in the recent period and that the regulations that will come into effect in a short time also increase the escape.
Dorzhiev also stated that a serious miner migration has started in Kazakhstan, one-third of the miners have already left Kazakhstan, and this situation seems to continue, which will cause the country to lose its leading position in this field.
On the other hand, Kazakhstan
Prime Minister Alihan Ismailov, speaking at today's Water Committee meeting, stated that serious measures should be taken against "virtual currencies" and said the following:
"Electricity and internet services should not be provided to miners who harm the environment. We must take very serious measures. Our immediate priority is to provide water to the south of the country."
