Netflix Takes a Big Step On Its Way To Become Disney By Making A Significant Purchase
The Giant Stream pioneer follows a playbook developed and perfected by House of Mouse.
The company had roughly 214 million subscribers in the third quarter for its streaming services, adding millions more in each subsequent quarter.
It shows off its use of entertainment giant Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) and eventually expanding to make it a direct competitor to House of Mouse.
An interesting purchase
Scanline VFX has also done extensive work on a number of Netflix originals.
While this may seem like a bit of a minor purchase, this is only the latest in a series of deals that mark Netflix's ultimate goal of cloning Disney itself.
Studios, cinemas and content
In 2018, the streaming giant announced plans to acquire ABQ Studios in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The studio is now on its way to becoming a major production hub for Netflix's original films and television series.
Also earlier last year, Netflix closed Hollywood's deal to buy the iconic Grauman's Egyptian Theater in a deal.

In addition, last month, Netflix
NFLX (NASDAQ) $663,84 -1,80 (-%0,27) made headlines with the acquisition of Roald Dahl Story Co., the largest acquisition in its history.
Netflix has commissioned Academy Award-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi for the series adaptation.
A pattern emerges.
Disney is known to be unrivaled in its production capabilities.
There's also no denying Disney's influence in Hollywood, its cross-marketing ability to sell theme park tickets and most recently video subscriptions.
Netflix doesn't have a theme park yet, but the company has all the other elements as it expands its empire.
If its recent moves are any indication, Netflix is now focused on being Disney.
