The platform was also hacked in February, and 254 NFTs worth 1.7 million belonging to 17 members were stolen. The platform was also hacked today. OpenSea official Discord account fell into the hands of identity thieves. Hackers shared a link to a phishing site that they said was "supposedly" partnered with YouTube on their Discord channel, and stated that their goal was to involve the YouTube community in the NFT industry. The hackers also wanted to increase the number of users who clicked on the link by promising that a limited number of whitelists would be given to the first applicants of the project. Speaking to The Verge on the subject, OpenSea spokesperson Allie Mack said, "Last night, a hacker managed to post malicious links on many of our Discord channels. We noticed malicious links soon after they were posted and took immediate steps to rectify the situation, including removing malicious bots and accounts. We've also warned our community not to click any links on our Discord through our Twitter support channel."
