Painter Patrick Hughes Announces NFT Collection!

Painter Patrick Hughes’ Reverspective collection will be released on MakersPlace early next week. The collection also includes two limited editions of 10 pieces, Banksy of England and Pygmalion. MakersPlace partnered with Christie's auction house in March 2021. In partnership, it helped accelerate digital art and NFTs on the global stage with the historic sale of Beeple's Everydays The First 5000 Days. The NFT marketplace is known as the first NFT marketplace to accept both cryptocurrency and fiat payments.

Banksy of England is a series of images playfully featuring the famous British graffiti artist Banksy. From a rioter throwing a bouquet of flowers, to a security camera, it features all of Banksy's paintings. By choice, these images make us think about society and its norms. Pygmalion, on the other hand, features yellow doors opening onto a calm seascape with a blue sky. In Patrick Hughes' art, doors are often depicted as opening and closing. There are also models of them close to open or closed. Depending on movement and point of view, these doors alternatively show closed doors or the spectacular view beyond. In addition, the collection includes an open edition NFT entitled 'Exhibitionism'. It features various artworks by legendary artists who inspired Patrick Hughes. Inspired by sculptures by Eduardo Paolozzi, Claes Oldenburg and Andy Warhol. Alongside paintings by Wayne Thiebaud, Roy Lichtenstein, Philip Guston and Victor Vasarely, Hughes aims to capture the essence of classic artworks and established artists entering a new world of digital art. About Patrick Hughes Patrick Hughes is a renowned British painter known for his iconic innovations and visually arresting experimentation.
