Producer inflation rose to 157.69 percent in October in Turkey

Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 7.83 percent on monthly and 157.69 percent on annual basis in October.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) for October 2022. Accordingly, in October 2022, D-PPI increased by 7.83 percent compared to the previous month, 96.74 percent compared to December of the previous year, 157.69 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 122.93 percent compared to the twelve-month averages. The annual changes in the four sectors of industry were as follows: 162.06 percent in mining and quarrying, 122.97 percent in manufacturing, 554.56 percent in electricity, gas production and distribution, and 109.45 percent in water supply. Annual changes in the main industrial groups; 123.12 percent in intermediate goods, 98.65 percent in durable consumer goods, 132.88 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 417.61 percent in energy and 95.61 percent in capital goods. Monthly changes in four sectors of industry; mining and quarrying increased by 3.49 percent, manufacturing by 3.19 percent, electricity, gas production and distribution by 32.55 percent and water supply by 2.80 percent. The monthly changes in the main industrial groups were as follows: 2.38 percent increase in intermediate goods, 2.29 percent in durable consumer goods, 4.30 percent in non-durable consumer goods, 26.50 percent in energy and 3.10 percent in capital goods. The lowest annual increase was realized in other transportation vehicles with 67.83 percent, clothing with 80.73 percent, basic pharmaceutical products and preparations with 82.44 percent. On the other hand, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning with 554.56 percent, crude oil and natural gas with 252.78 percent, other non-metallic mineral products with 214.12 percent were the sub-sectors with the highest increase in indices. The lowest monthly increase was realized in metal ores with 0.25 percent, base metals with 0.35 percent, chemicals and chemical products with 1.08 percent. On the other hand, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning with 32.55 percent and crude oil and natural gas with 8.03 percent were the sub-sectors where indices increased the most.
