Reddit has posted a recruitment notice to become a new platform for non-exchangeable tokens (NFT) and digital products.
According to a job posting on Greenhouse, Reddit is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a platform responsible for millions of users creating, buying, selling and using
NFT-powered digital products. The position includes qualifications that require at least five years of experience in the field as well as the ability to "design and implement complex distributed systems operating under high load".
No explanation has yet been made about when Reddit's NFT platform will take place or when it will arrive. However, the company used the following statements in the job posting:
“Fans of today's biggest creators and brands now flock to buy digital products directly from them, support them, gain exclusive access, and feel a greater sense of connection with them. and we believe it will play a central role in how it supports communities."
Reddit's first foray into NFTs took place in June of this year, when the firm put three "CryptoSnoos" (Reddit's mascot) NFTs up for auction. According to the statement released by the platform, CryptoSnoo owners will be able to use it as a profile picture and make their comments stand out when using Reddit.
