Ricardo Salinas Pliego, one of the richest Mexicans, continues his support for Bitcoin by urging investors to dedicate money to Bitcoin. Mexican billionaire businessman and Founder of Grupo Salinas - Ricardo Salinas Pliego - has been an advocate of bitcoin for years. Last year, he admitted that he started investing in Bitcoin when it was around $800 in 2016. In June 2021, Salinas Pliego stated that BTC is a financial instrument of “international value”. It is “traded with tremendous liquidity” and therefore every investor should own some of it. Shortly after, he labeled all fiat currencies as “scams” ​​and said he would only keep Bitcoin for the next 30 years if he had to choose. In a recent tweet, the Mexican doubled down on his support, advising people to enter the BTC ecosystem as soon as possible. He also denounced the United States, especially the Federal Reserve, for the "the scale of fake money" it created. It is worth noting that the central banking system of states has printed trillions of dollars to mitigate the economic blow caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the large amount of cash in circulation and other controversial monetary policies have caused inflation rates to rise globally. Also, Bitcoin is capped at 21 million BTC. For this reason, many see the asset as a hedge against inflation and a viable investment solution during a monetary crisis. Pliego, known as the third richest man in Mexico, is also a supporter of this statement. He added that Bitcoin is the "new digital gold." Both assets have similar use-cases, but cryptocurrency excels because it's "much easier to carry than gold in your pockets."
