Starbucks Has Made the Decision to Withdraw From Russia

Starbucks has announced in March that it would close all of its stores in Russia, and now decided that it would withdraw completely from the country.

Starbucks has been added to the sanctions that began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. One of the brands that decided to leave Russia was the American coffee shop chain. Starbucks' licensed partner, which is among the most popular coffee shops, suspended the operations of its 130 stores in Russia in March. The coffee chain has announced their decision to exit the country altogether. Starbucks did not leave its employees alone. In the statement made to the personnel, it was noted that the salaries of approximately 2 thousand employees will continue to be paid in a 6-month period and support will be provided for employment transformation. Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson, before leaving his post in March, stated that they condemned Russia's attacks on Ukraine and said, "The humanitarian effects of the occupation and war are very devastating and will be felt all over the world." Finally, McDonald's was among the brands that decided to leave the country this month 'due to the humanitarian crisis caused by the war'.
