The European Union has expanded its solar energy goals.

Five member states of the European Union (EU) have expanded their goals in solar energy.

The European Union has expanded its solar energy goals. According to the letter signed by Frans Timmermans, climate chief of the Austria, Belgium, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Spain bloc, and Kadri Simson, EU Commissioner for Energy, the bloc aims to install a photovoltaic system of at least 1,000 gigawatts in the region by 2030. In the letter signed by the energy ministers of EU countries, “Solar roofs should be standardized for newly built homes and homes undergoing major renovations. Every photovoltaic panel immediately and directly reduces our energy dependence on Russia”. It has announced that it will be able to install 70 million solar energy roofs in the next 10 years, with an installed solar energy capacity of 166 gigawatts in 2021. We are only weeks away from the European Commission's announcement of its plan to reduce its dependence on Russian gas. Blok will outline a range of measures, from accelerating the deployment of renewable energy sources to reducing red tape for wind and solar farms.
