War Warning from Tech Giant Apple's Chip Manufacturer
Mark Liu, CEO of Taiwan-based TSMC, one of the world's leading chip manufacturers, spoke about the war. Following the visit of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, he made statements claiming that everyone will lose in the Taiwan-US-China tension.
In an interview with CNN, Mark Liu, CEO of TSMC, the world's largest independent semiconductor manufacturer, which produces processors for American companies, including
Apple and Qualcomm, said that if Taiwan is invaded by China, the chip factory will not be able to operate because it depends on the global supply chain.
Mark Liu said,
"There are no winners in war, everyone loses. No one can control TSMC by force. Because from materials to chemicals, this business depends on simultaneous communication with Europe, Japan, the US and other outside world."
Stating that the invasion of Taiwan would cause economic turmoil for China, Taiwan and Western countries, the CEO called on political leaders to avoid war. In his speech, Mark Liu also emphasized that the war in Ukraine is not positive for any side.
