Warren Buffett’s Interest in Vaccine Manufacturers Increases Warren Buffett’s interest in vaccine manufacturers increases. Buffett has begun to include more vaccine producers in its portfolio. Warren Buffett, the world's leading investor, owner of Berkshire Hathaway, has increased its investments in companies operating in the healthcare industry. Alongside this, Buffett has gone down in banking positions. Berkshire Hathaway, which made its positions public on Monday, invested in Merck & Co and Pfizer; AbbVie and Bristol-Myers Squibb positions were seen to increase. On the other hand, the company reduced its position in banks and financial services companies, including Wells Fargo and JPMorgan. Berkshire Hathaway had begun to raise its positions in the healthcare industry long before Pfizer and BioNTech announced the vaccine. Warren Buffett, Berkshire's chairman and CEO, made careful statements during the coronavirus outbreak, noting that the record cash position in May might not be that big in the worst-case scenario. Since then, Buffett has invested in brokerage houses and some natural gas assets in Japan, and bought back Berkshire shares with some of the cash it received. Pfizer and BioNTech, where Buffett increased their investments, announced last week that the vaccine developed against the coronavirus was 90 percent effective.   Source: Bloomberg HT
