In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index decreased by 0.62 percent, closing the first trading day of the week at 1,550.61 points. A gram of 24-carat gold bullion in the Grand Bazaar completed the day at 410.70 lira, gaining 2.98 percent value. Here is the end of the day in the markets ..
BIST 100 index lost 0.62 percent on the day. The index closed the day at the level of 1,550.61 points with a decrease of 9.72 points. The transaction volume was recorded over 34 billion TL. BIST 100 traded at the highest 1.569.84 points and the lowest 1.547.49 points throughout the day. The decline in the banking index was 2 percent.
While the loss in the banking index was 1.98 percent, the holding index increased by 0.12 percent. Among the industry indices, financial leasing and factoring were the most profitable with 5.89 percent, while the most decline was recorded on mining with 4.15 percent.
The financial index lost value by 0.76 percent compared to the previous close, while the industry index lost 0.48 percent, the services index lost 1.00 percent and the technology index 0.59 percent.
BIST 30 index, on the other hand, decreased by 1.06 percent compared to the previous close and closed at 1,605.01 points with a decrease of 17.25 points. While 36 of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index were premium, 62 of them declined. Koza Gold, Turkish Airlines, Karsan Otomotiv VakıfBank and SASA Polyester were recorded as the most traded stocks.
Foreign Exchange
In the free market, the USD/TL was traded at 7.0547 as of 6:15 pm, while the Euro/TL was at the level of 8.5765 and the pound/TL 9.9267.
In the statement made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), it was stated that the dollar was 6,9891 lira when buying the current effective rate and 7,0171 lira for sale. The Central Bank also announced that it determined the previous effective rate as 6,9562 lira for purchase and 6.9841 lira for sale.
In international markets, as of 6:20 pm, the Euro/USD parity was 1.2143, the pound/dollar parity was 1.4053, while the dollar/yen parity was at 105.07.
Gold and Oil
At the closing of the first day of the new week, quarter gold was traded at the Istanbul Grand Bazaar at 666 TL, while Republican gold was traded at the level of 2,726.00 TL. The gram price of 24 carat gold bullion gained 2.98 percent compared to the previous close and traded at 410.70 liras.
Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Precious Stones Market (KMKTP) tested the standard gold price per kilogram, the highest being 406 thousand 500 lira, and the lowest being 396 thousand 850 lira. The kilogram price of gold rose by 2 percent compared to the previous closing and closed the day at 406,500 liras.
The price of an ounce of gold in international markets is $ 1,805.01 as of 18.20, while the barrel price of London Brent crude oil gained 3.10 percent and traded at $ 63.87.
